Who we are...
The Groton Democratic Town Committee is an inclusionary group of active
citizens who find common ground in our shared humanity.
We focus on our similarities rather than our differences.
We draw our strength from our diversity, believing that the greatest wisdom
in a community lies in the collective voice of its citizens.
We approach local issues by searching for solutions that are tailored to
Groton’s specific needs while at the same time, adding our voice to the
Democratic Party at the regional, state, and national levels.
We
believe that a community/society can be judged by its treatment of its young,
its old, its poor and those in greatest need.
"The test of our progress is not
whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we
provide enough for those who have too little."
FDR's Second Inaugural Address,
January 20, 1937
